Foreign IT Specialists to Get 3-Year Visa
Overseas specialists in the information technology service sector will soon be able to work in Korea on a three-year E-7 visa.
As part of the government’s initiative to foster research and development in domestic service industries, the Finance Ministry announced its plan to extend the renewable three-month work visa for foreign IT consultants to three years by this March.
This decision comes amid a shortage of competent professionals in the IT service sector.
Meanwhile, the government aims to double the amount of R&D investment injected in service industries by 2012.
