SK Communications’ portal site Nate will introduce a real-name system for comments on news articles. The company on Wednesday said it will overhaul its news service to create a sound culture of public opinion in a country where vociferous Internet users often hide behind anonymity. Internet users will have to reveal their real name to add comments.
Other portal sites are running a limited real name system verifying the identity of users only for the first comment they write and allowing pseudonyms for subsequent comments.
Meanwhile, Nate will switch from an arbitrary arrangement of news articles by staff to an automatic program that finds the hottest keyword and arrange news articles in the order of importance. Users can then read news on a certain issue produced by various sources.
