Nate to Replace Empas in March
Internet portal Empas will vanish nine years after its launch. That’s because SK Communications has decided to launch a new portal, Nate, next March, by combining internet portal Nate.com with search engine Empas, which it acquired in 2006.
Nate will introduce new technologies such as a “background music search” that enables people to search videos’ background music and a “palette search” with which people can search pictures from colors. It also plans to allow only comments left by authentic names on its news service. Community site, Cyworld, run by SK Communications, is the only internet site where this real-name comment policy is used for a news service.
