Los Angeles is honoring the visit of South Korean figure skating star Kim Yu-na by designating Aug. 7 as “Yu-Na Kim Day,” the city council said Tuesday, according to Yonhap News.

The 20-year-old Olympic gold medalist is due to receive the “Proud Korean Award,” presented by the Korean American Leadership Foundation, on the upcoming Yu-Na Kim Day, the news report said.
The Los Angeles City Council unanimously passed a resolution to mark Aug. 7 as “Yu-Na Kim Day,” which was submitted by council members Herb Wesson and Tom LaBonge, it said. Both councilmen represent Korean communities in their respective districts.Please Keep Reading Here
